Board of Directors Standing Committee Preference

After reviewing the PDK Standing Committee Charges below, please complete the form to indicate your committee preference(s).

• Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is an advisory committee to the Executive Officers. The VP for Membership shall chair the Standing Committee for Membership. The committee is composed of members of the Board of Directors serving one-year terms with the ability to be appointed to additional terms. The Membership Committee shall recruit participation for annual events, develop promotional and marketing materials to encourage event participation, provide guidance on communications sent to educators and advocates, and enhance organizational accessibility.

• Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is an advisory committee to the Executive Officers. The Treasurer shall chair the Standing Committee on Finance. The committee is composed of members of the Board of Directors serving one-year terms with the ability to be appointed to additional terms. The Finance Committee shall coordinate the Board’s financial oversight responsibilities, including developing an annual budget, tracking annual event registrations and expenses, and providing for an audit.

• Communications Committee

The Communications Committee is an advisory committee to the Executive Officers. The VP for Communications shall chair the Standing Committee on Communications. The committee is composed of members of the Board of Directors serving one-year terms with the ability to be appointed to additional terms. The Communications Committee shall  develop and disseminate communications, maintain the organization’s website and email systems, and facilitate social media updates.

• Programming Committee 

The Programming Committee is an advisory committee to the Executive Officers. The VPs for Programming shall co-chair the Standing Committee on Programming. The committee is composed of members of the Board of Directors serving one-year terms with the ability to be appointed to additional terms. The Programming Committee shall recommend potential events to the Executive Officers, provide input on and assist with event planning and execution throughout the year, and oversee accommodation and logistical arrangements for events.
